Why choose us?
Superb Riding
Ronda is surrounded by miles and miles of varied riding opportunities: high mountain passes with amazing views, Natural Parks, river valleys and lakeside routes. Most important of all, there is great scope for different elements of cycling in Spain - challenge yourself on dramatic climbs and be rewarded with long, descents that are some of the best in Europe.
Immaculate Roads
The roads are quiet and the tarmac surfaces are in excellent condition - they ride like silk compared to what you probably endure at home!
The perfect solution for getting away from busy cycling resorts - Cycling retreats in Mallorca are busy places and the roads are full of cycling groups. Road cycling from Ronda will get you away from busy roads and big groups. Enjoy the peaceful unspoilt Serrania de Ronda roads.
Outstanding Weather
Andalucian weather in the spring and Autumn provides near-perfect conditions for cycling.
Tasty Refuelling En-route
Traditional white villages dotted through the mountains and popular roadside "ventas" make excellent lunch and coffee stops. Try out local specialities and classic tapas - save the beers for post-ride!
Self-Guided Rides
Spend the day riding at your own pace. We have developed cycling routes which are adaptable for self-guided riding. For self-guiding, we provide a detailed map and we provide a free-to-use phone application with plenty of route choices. If you prefer you can pre-load your chosen routes onto your own cycling GPS device.
Where we ride
Andalucia's Serrania de Ronda
Cycling in the Serranía de Ronda, in the heart of Malaga province, allows visitors to enjoy not only the unspoiled countryside but also the rich cultural and architectural history of the region. The landscape is incredibly diverse and is dotted with remote white villages and a wealth of interesting sights. As you explore the region, you will ride past precariously positioned villages, grand houses, Moorish baths, watchtowers, Roman theatres and primitive caves.
Throughout history, the smaller villages in the Serranía de Ronda have been difficult places to reach. This is mainly because of the mountainous terrain but also to make them easier to defend in times of conflict. They were often linked by remote mountain pathways which have over time become beautiful roads or made into tracks for modern-day cyclists to ride from village to village. On these routes, you can experience the remote mountain scenery, hidden pathways and traditional character of the white villages and rural countryside.
Example Itinerary
On our cycling retreat in Spain, we organise every day of riding based on your abilities, preferences and pace, ensuring you get the best cycling during your time with us in Ronda. We design every day's ride to suit all our guests for the week.
A TYPICAL WEEK:
Sunday - Arrival Day
We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Hotel Molino del Puente. Set up bikes ready for tomorrow's ride.
Monday - Setenil de las Bodegas - Cave Houses Village
Riding from the hotel on quiet roads and unsurfaced tracks to head over the hills to a Roman amphitheatre. From Acinipo we descend into a valley and ride into the hidden village of Setenil de las Bodegas where many of the houses and bars are set into the limestone rock of the gorge. A great introduction to riding in Spain.
Tuesday - Grazalema Natural Park

Wednesday - Montejaque - Mountainside Village
Riding from the hotel through the Rio Guadiaro and visit a popular local spot, the Cueva del Gato. Ride up to the remote village of Montejaque, nestled on the side of rugged mountains. We pass an abandoned dam and ride through cork Oak forest before a final descent back to the hotel
Thursday - Genal Valley - Hidden White & Blue Villages
The Genal Valley is full of Chestnut trees and isolated white villages which you will ride through on this road ride. A long descent into Ronda and then again down to the hotel gives an amazing finish to this ride.
Friday - The Via Verde de la Sierra - Disused Railway Trail
