Ronda is the perfect place for centre based mountain bike holidays. This historical town is set in a stunningly beautiful, mountainous region of southern Spain. It is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, in particular two large areas of protected Natural Park, and offers plenty of varied biking terrain. There is an extensive local network of unmarked dirt tracks, natural cross country trails and singletrack for some of the best XC mountain biking in Spain. Not to mention the best weather in Europe, with over 300 days of sunshine a year. In summary, this is a region which is absolutely crying out to be explored on a mountain bike!

We arrange mountain bike holidays throughout the year for all levels of mountain biker. Join other riders or we can create a bespoke holiday to suit your riding ability and preferences. Most centre based mountain bike holidays are guided but we can also arrange self guided holidays.

Exhilarating Daily MTB Rides

On each day of your centre based mountain bike holiday you will explore remote mtb routes and enjoy great riding conditions. You will ride superb natural trails which cross diverse and unspoilt local landscapes - mountains, river valleys, forests and hills - together with a spectacular ride right down to the Mediterranean Sea**. You will pass through traditional white villages and hill-top towns, with time to try out the great local cuisine in village cafes and bars.

Difficulty Level

Our most popular centre based mountain bike holidays are at an Intermediate level. Intermediate level mountain biking will require a reasonable amount of fitness on the bikes, along with competency in bike handling skills. It's not highly technical, with jumps or drop offs, but the natural terrain means that you should be happy tackling all sorts of different surfaces. There will be notable climbs and descents every day. This mtb week is ideal for mountain bikers who enjoy XC riding on natural trails and want to improve their skills over the duration of a week.

We can also arrange holidays at an easier or more difficult level - just let us know the sort of riding you would like to do when you enquire.

Our guides are British Cycling qualified and have expert knowledge of the local unmarked tracks and trails. In the event of issues with bikes or riders, they are fully qualified Outdoor First Aiders and carry a first aid kit at all times, as well as a wide range of tools & spares.

Our minibus is on hand throughout your guided centre based mountain bike holiday to optimise route choice and to help out if anyone runs out of steam along the way!

WILL I BE FIT ENOUGH?

Our Centre Based MTB weeks are designed for enthusiasts rather than mountain bike experts. There are plenty of ascents throughout the route which will need to be tackled. On the longest days we take things steadily and ensure you have plenty of refreshment/snack stops.

Just remember that in summer, higher temperatures can make cycling seem harder so we start earlier aiming to finish before 3pm.

WHERE WIL YOU BE STAYING?

Hotel Molino del Puente - Our centre based half board mountain bike holidays are located in a family-run, boutiuqe countryside hotel, just outside Ronda. The hotel is a beautifully restored olive mill, full of character and comfort. On 5 nights you will dine in the hotel's excellent restaurant, with 2 nights left free for you to explore Ronda's extensive range of restaurants and tapas bars. Standard accommodation is for 2 people in a double or twin room.

If you prefer to stay in Ronda town, we can arrange accommodation at all levels here. We are familiar with all the hotels in town and maintain close relationships with our favourites. Standard accommodation is in a 4**** hotel in the centre of town, close to the bullring and main sights. If you have other specific requirements (pool, garden, views, etc.), we can quote on a bespoke package for you.

Self Guided Mountain Bike Holiday

If you prefer to ride without a guide, we can also arrange a self guided mtb holiday. Please note, the rides on a self guided mtb holiday tend to be at the easier level, on less remote trails and staying closer to Ronda. If you prefer something more challenging, we strongly recommend a guided holiday.
