A great day out riding in the hills along old routes and hidden ways to Setenil

Setenil de las Bodegas is unique amongst the white villages of the Serranía de Ronda, as it is situated in a deep river gorge, with houses, cafes and bars carved out of the limestone walls, giving the appearance of cave-house dwellings. It is a perfect destination to visit by bike. There are various ways to reach Setenil de las Bodegas, but this circular route starting from Ronda takes a more exciting mountain biking path and follows the well-known Ruta de los Bandilleros.

DESCRIPTION

This circular route will take us along some of the old hillside trails and paths that once ran between the secret caves and hiding places of Andalucia's famous 19th-century bandits and via the village of Setenil de las Bodegas. The bandits used to use these trails, also known as "Rutas de los Bandoleros," to escape the attention of the authorities. Nowadays, these trails serve us better as excellent cross-country mountain biking routes.
