Itinerary

Complete Flexibility

On our Hike & Bike Holidays, our aim is to create the best walking and biking experience for you with a bespoke itinerary for a minimum of 2 people.

A TYPICAL GUIDED WEEK: (Easy-Moderate level)

Sunday - Arrival Day

Transfer to Ronda and settle into your hotel.

Monday - Setenil de las Bodegas (Bike)

30km +238m

An easy, scenic ride on a mix of quiet roads and country tracks to the cave house village of Setenil de las Bodegas. This is an adaptable route which we can change to make it shorter or easier once the guide sees how you are getting along. A great introduction to the region.

Tuesday - Montejaque to Ronda (Walk)

11km +394m

Nestled into a niche amongst rocky mountain peaks, at the edge of the Sierra de Grazalema, lies the white village of Montejaque. We drive out to the village to enjoy its characterful features and then follow the original pathways that took villagers across the mountains to Ronda. We enjoy wonderful countryside and stunning views and enter Ronda from the base of the gorge, with spectacular views of the Puente Nuevo bridge.

Wednesday - Valle de Genal (Bike)

36km +683m

Ride through the Valle de Genal, surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains and past hillsides covered with chestnut trees. The route passes through several white villages, including Cartajima and the remote blue village of Juzcar.  From the final summit of this ride, we have a fun descent for 12km all the way back into Ronda.

Thursday - Grazalema National Park (Walk)

12km +79m

A beautiful cross-country walk through the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, following an ancient path that connected the villages of Grazalema and Montejaque. The route heads through cork oak and holm oak forest, and the area is dotted with natural springs, which have been important water sources for livestock and wildlife for centuries.

Friday - Via Verde de la Sierra (Bike)

36km +147m

This popular, easy ride along a disused railway line is suitable for everyone. Riders follow a gently descending, unsurfaced track which meanders through rural countryside, through 30 tunnels, over 4 viaducts and past a Griffon vulture colony.

Saturday - Departure Day

Return to Malaga airport for your flight home or take onward travel elsewhere if you are staying in Spain. We can help with an airport or other transfer arrangements if required.

A TYPICAL DAY: (based on Country Hotel)
  • 09:00 - Enjoy a hearty breakfast ready for the day ahead
  • 10:00 - Head out into the countryside to begin your walk or bike ride
  • 14:00 - Finish your walk or bike ride at a local bar or cafe for refreshments or light lunch. If we finish outside Ronda, minibus return to your hotel.
  • 16:00 - Chill-out by the pool. Afternoon tea and cakes provided.
  • 19:00 - Drinks in the bar
  • 20:00 - Enjoy a well-deserved 3-course meal on the hotel restaurant's terrace.
