Hike + Bike Holidays in Spain - Combining Bikes and Boots
Enjoy Cycling and Walking but Can't Choose Between the Two?
Hike + Bike weeks uniquely offer a mix of walking, cycling or mountain biking - perfect for walkers who want to have a day or two out on a bike or for cyclists and mountain bikers who occasionally want to swap their bikes for boots.
Hike + Bike holidays are available either guided, where a guide accompanies you on each day’s activity, or self-guided, for which we will provide all the information and easy-to-use equipment that you need to explore the area on your own. On our combined biking and walking holidays, we can be flexible according to your preferences as to the number of days spent walking and biking. Join other holidaymakers or we can create a bespoke holiday to suit your ability and preferences.
On this holiday you will explore the countryside around Ronda and the two protected Natural Parks to the east and west of the town. The area is rural and unspoilt, with an extensive network of quiet country roads, pathways and hidden tracks, trails and single track.
“Our week staying in Ronda and doing day cycles or hikes was just fabulous. Wayne and Heather came up with an itinerary that was just perfect, we saw and did so much, it was a great way to see Ronda and surrounding areas.” (Leone & MIchael - Oct 2016)

Difficulty Level |
Routes are selected according to rider levels of experience and fitness. Walking: Our Hike + Bike walks tend to be at the Moderate level, involving some ascent and descent every day. We walk on all-natural trails, so paths can be weather-eroded with stony, gravelly or uneven surfaces. We can include a more challenging mountain hike or two if you prefer. Cycling: For our centre-based walking and biking holidays we use either hybrid bikes or mountain bikes. All have excellent gearing to help with the ascents and hydraulic disc brakes for secure braking on the descents. You can select rides which are mainly off-road, on the roads, or a mix of both. Bike rides do not require lots of biking experience; as long as you feel reasonably confident on a bike and are happy to ride for 2-4 hours each day, these rides should be easily do-able. If you prefer to ride wholly on the roads, rides will be from Moderate to Challenging, as there are no easy road routes in this mountainous area. The climbs can be long but the views are superb. Mountain Biking: Off-road rides tend to be at our Easy to Moderate level. They are enjoyable rides away from the roads, requiring little/no specific mountain biking skills. if you prefer some more challenging mountain bike rides, just let us know at the time of enquiry and the sort of technical difficulty you are used to. Daily Distance : Walking: 12 - 15km per day Cycling: 25 - 35km per day N.B. e-bikes available for a supplement. Guided holidays include vehicle support throughout. On self-guided holidays, pick-ups are available on some routes and you keep bikes throughout the week, so can ride on your 'day off' if you wish. |
