Exit Ronda town and head down into the valley for breathtaking views of the Puente Nuevo Bridge. Walk through the valley to then enjoy beautiful countryside, out towards the Guadiaro river. From here you follow a narrow path above the river to reach the Cueva del Gato (Cat Cave), a local beauty-spot. Here, a large cavemouth marks the end of a 7km cave system through the mountains, ending with a cascading waterfall into a scenic natural waterpool, surrounded by trees. From the cave, you continue along the river to reach the small hamlet of Benaojan estacion, from where you return to Ronda by minibus. Alternatively, you can enjoy a delicious lunch at the renowned Molino del Santo restaurant in Benaojan estacion before returning to Ronda.

Note: Whilst most of this route is on wide tracks and quiet lanes with easy walking surfaces, the path above the river to the cave is narrow and eroded in parts, with some steep sections.
