Ronda Sights: Cycling & Walking Tour
Cycling & Walking Tour
Explore the countryside around Ronda on a guided cycling tour, then return to the town for a historical walking tour of Ronda's most famous and interesting sights. Certified, local biking and historical guides lead each section of your tour.
Ronda enjoys wonderful countryside right on its doorstep so, on our bikes, we are soon amongst olive groves and vineyards, arable fields and ancient holm oak forest. We pass by an 18th-century aqueduct and an ancient water trough, both fed by natural springs. We look down on to Ronda from the fields, enjoying a fabulous view of the old walled town.
We re-enter the town via an old cobbled street which heads below the city walls, riding over the Roman (or Arab) bridge, with views up to the Puente Viejo "Old Bridge". We pass the Arab Baths and the Almocábar Gate, set into the city walls, as we ride up via one of the oldest districts of the town, the barrio San Francisco, to meet your walking guide.
We walk through the narrow streets of the old town, learning about the main plazas, the Town Hall, churches and convents. We pass the Mondragon Palace and head to a viewpoint with fabulous vistas across Ronda's fertile valley. We cross the famous Puente Nuevo into the newer part of town, seeing some of the most impressive and important sites of the historic and romantic town of Ronda. We finish our tour at the bullring.
The perfect tour to experience Ronda and its unique relationship between town and countryside.
Note: This tour is offered on hybrid bikes or e-bikes. The cycling is all easy apart from one short, steeper cobbled section riding up below the city walls, so less strong cyclists may like the reassurance of an e-bike (€15 supplement per bike).
