A TYPICAL WEEK:
Sunday
Arrival Day
We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Hotel Molino del Puente. Set up bikes ready for tomorrow's ride.
Monday
Setenil de las Bodegas – Cave Houses Village
Riding from the hotel on quiet roads and unsurfaced tracks to head over the hills to a Roman amphitheatre. From Acinipo we descend into a valley and ride into the hidden village of Setenil de las Bodegas where many of the houses and bars are set into the limestone rock of the gorge. A great introduction to riding in Spain.
Tuesday
Grazalema Natural Park
Enjoy spectacular views from the top of Las Palomas Pass (1357m) and a thrilling mountain descent to finish. You will cycle through the heart of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park and ride via the white villages of Grazalema and Zahara de la Sierra.
Wednesday
Montejaque – Mountainside White Village
Riding from the hotel through the Rio Guadiaro and visit a popular local spot, the Cueva del Gato. Ride up to the remote village of Montejaque, nestled on the side of rugged mountains. We pass an abandoned dam and ride through cork Oak forest before a final descent back to the hotel.
Thursday
Genal Valley – Hidden White & Blue Villages
The Genal Valley is full of Chestnut trees and isolated white villages which you will ride through on this road ride. Visit the blue village of Juzcar — an oddity of the region but still a sight to behold. This ride changes with every turn, offering panoramic views along the way. A long descent into Ronda and then again down to the hotel gives an amazing finish to this ride.
Friday
The Via Verde de la Sierra – Disused Railway Trail
Start with a minibus transfer into the hilltop town of Olvera where the Via Verde de la Sierra starts. This is a lovely ride along an abandoned railway, passing through 30 tunnels, over 4 viaducts and past a Griffon vulture colony.

Ride Options
Cycling in the Serrania de Ronda of southern Spain
Our leisure cycling rides make the most of the network of tracks and quiet roads which interconnect the white villages of the region. Riding on the many tracks offers virtually traffic-free riding along the less travelled path and offers much more in the way of route options. If you prefer to stay on the roads, the courteous drivers and smooth tarmac will give you an unforgettable riding experience here in Ronda.
Our most popular cycling holidays are at a moderate level of difficulty and are suitable for leisure or regular cyclists with a reasonable level of general fitness but do not need to be serious athletes. This type of week is ideal for cyclists who enjoy cycling in areas of outstanding natural beauty and who relish the challenge of ascents ranging from between 250m and 900m. During your week we can include any of the following types of rides:
EASY/MODERATE ROUTESThe quiet country roads and tracks which wind between traditional white villages provide the most beautiful views. But this region is hilly and mountainous, so you should expect some hills every day. For riders who wish to take things fairly easily, we recommend our easiest rides, with shorter distances and minimal hills, whilst offering a fabulous chance to explore the beautiful countryside and villages of Spain. 25-40km 200-500m ascent
MODERATE/CHALLENGING ROUTESFor riders who like to ride further but still don't want to spend all day in the saddle. Varied scenery, varying degrees of ascent, long descents and plenty of opportunities for refreshment stops in white villages. 35-60km 500-1000m ascent
