Leisure Cycling Holidays in Spain

Explore peaceful mountain roads and quiet country lanes on one of our centre based cycling holidays in Ronda, southern Spain. Enjoy life at a slower pace as you cycle through unspoilt countryside via traditional white villages and historic sites. Cycling in this region is a joy, with fabulous scenery and over 300 days of sunshine a year.

No need to continually pack and re-pack, as you will return each day to one of our favourite countryside hotels to relax and recuperate after you ride. A warm welcome, tranquil gardens, swimming pool and delicious home-cooked food - without doubt this is the perfect way to end each cycling day. On your rest day, visit the historic town of Ronda, with its 120m deep gorge and famous Puente Nuevo bridge.

We arrange cycling holidays throughout the year. Join other riders or we can create a bespoke holiday to suit your riding ability and preferences. Most centre based cycling holidays are self guided. We provide a Garmin GPS with pre-loaded routes for easy navigation, together with our proprietary local area maps. We can also arrange self guided centre based cycling holidays.*

Our self guided centre based holidays include:

  • 7 nights' accommodation (B & B)
  • Hire of quality hybrid bike (e-bikes or road bikes also available)
  • Circular routes or vehicle pick up/drop offs where required

Guests staying on our half board holidays in the Hotel Molino del Puente (see below) will also enjoy

  • 5 nights' dinner in the hotel's excellent restaurant
  • Afternoon tea/coffee and cakes every day

Wonderful Daily Bike Rides

hybrid riders near zahara and lake  riders passing over grazalema town

On each day of your cycling holiday you will be riding through some of the most stunning and unspoilt landscapes in Spain. The mountain roads twist and turn through wonderful scenery, with views which will take your breath away. It is also worth noting that there is little traffic on most of the roads and drivers are extremely considerate towards cyclists. Try out the local cuisine in village cafes and bars and experience for yourself the gentle pace of rural Andalucian life.

"...you don't have to be Bradley Wiggins to fully enjoy [Hike + Bike] holidays. Anyone with a moderate level of fitness and an enjoyment of cycling will really appreciate seeing the breathtaking scenery from the leisurely pace of a bike. .....I'm afraid we might be back."  Jane & Bob, UK, September 2015

Difficulty level

Our most popular centre based cycling holidays are at a moderate level. Although there are hill climbs to tackle every day, the riding is suitable for any occasional or regular cyclist with a good level of general fitness. Just remember to keep to a comfortable pace and make plenty of stops to recuperate and enjoy the views. And of course all that climbing effort is rewarded with fabulous long mountain descents. This type of week is ideal for cyclists who enjoy cycling in areas of outstanding natural beauty and who relish the challenge of occasional good climbs.

We can also arrange holidays with more challenging rides and more hill climbs - just let us know the sort of riding you would like to do when you enquire about a centre based cycling holiday. N.B. there is very limited easy cycling in this mountainous area so, whilst most of our cycling is suitable for occasional or regular cyclists, we do not recommend it for cyclists looking for very easy touring.
