British Cycling qualified guides with expert local knowledge take you on a tour of the area's best cycling routes - or if you prefer self guiding, we can create an itinerary to suit you. Join other cyclists or we can create a bespoke holiday just for you.

Ronda is the perfect location for a centre-based a cycling holiday. The historical town is located in a stunningly beaurtiful and unspoilt mountainous region beween two protected Natural Parks and enjoys the best weather in Europe, with over 300 days of sunshine a year.

By Day:

Enjoy expert guided cycling in the varied scenery of the Serrania de Ronda and Grazalema Natural Park. The mountain roads are generally quiet and very well maintained with plenty of hill climbs and thrilling descents to provide both good cycling challenges and some fun too. We will visit traditional Andalucian white villages which are dotted through the mountains and valleys, all with a character of their own and many having changed little for hundreds of years. You wil be riding through some of the most stunning and unspoilt landscapes in Spain and the views at every turn will take your breath away. It is regon just crying out to be explored by bike, where you can experience for yourself the gentle pace of rural Andaucian life.

By Night:

Choose either a full board holiday, staying in a family-run, boutiuqe countryside hotel, just outside Ronda. The hotel is a beautifully restored flour mill, full of character and comfort. On 5 nights you will dine in the hotel's excellent restaurant, with 2 nights left free for you to explore Ronda's extensive range of restaurants and tapas bars. Standard accommodation is for 2 people in a double or twin room.

The Hotel Molino del Puente.....

....or stay on B&B basis in a hotel (4**** or equivalent) in the historic town of Ronda, perched upon a cliff-top above a 120m gorge, spanned by the famous stone bridge, "Puente Nuevo". Visit the oldest bullring in Spain; explore the tapas bars and historical sights.

New year holiday mountain biking

Highlights of this centre based cycling holiday include:

- Dramatic scenery, peaceful countyside and traditonal white villages - stunningly beautiful region of southern Spain

- Smooth and quiet country roads through forests and valleys with superb mountain climbs and long twisting mountain descents

- Hybrid bikes for easy riding - hydraulic disc brakes and excellent gearing for the mountains

- Historic town of Ronda

Difficulty level

Our most popular centre-based cycling holidays are at a moderate level. There are hill climbs to tackle evey day but the riding is suitable for any occasional or regular cyclist with a good level of general fitness - we take all our rides at a comfortable pace with plenty of stops to enjoy the views and re-cooperate. This type of week is ideal for cyclists who enjoy cycling in areas of outstanding natural beauty and who relish the challenge of a good climb once in a whilte and the rewarding exhileration of some long and fast mountain descents.

We can also arrange holidays with more challenging rides and more hill climbs - just let us know the sort of riding you would like to do when you enquire about a centre-based cycling holiday. N.B. there is very limited easy cycling in this mountainous area so, whilst most of our cycling is suitable for occassional or regular cyclists, we do not recommend it for cyclists looking for very easy touring.

Safety & Support - Our Guides

Your British Cycling qualified guide will suit every day’s riding on your cycling holiday to your level of experience. You wont need to worry about navigation or where the nearest refreshment stop is and they can help you with those all-important climbs, giving advice, tips and often just a bit of motivation at the important moments. Our guides are fully qualified Outdoor First Aiders and carry a first aid kit at all times, aswell as a wide range of tools & spares to deal with mechanical issues with your bike.

In order to maximise each day’s cycling, we do not restrict ourselves to circular rides – some of the best routes head well out of Ronda into the surrounding countryside, so our minibus is available to bring us back to Ronda. The minibus is also available if at any time you find you have bitten off a bit more than you can chew and need a helping hand to get you home at the end of your day’s cycling.

Self Guided Leisure Cycling Holidays

Some of our rides can be completed on a self-guided basis as there are nice circular loops which you can do unsupported. They are often quite long as there are limited roads through the mountains so for riders who may be daunted by some of the longer distances, we can arrange a self guided holiday with some rides enjoying a pick up at the end to bring you back to Ronda and maximise the route options available to you.
